Yoga for Beginners: How to Practice Poses at Home

Empower Yourself with Yoga: Meditation, Mat Practice and Peaceful Living On Your Terms

Dare to Begin Yoga

Even if you've started before, you can be a born-again yoga virgin.

Because the reality for many yoga students is this:

  • You're not sure where to start. The whole concept is still a mystery
  • You want to feel healthier in your own skin without being forced to be Vegan
  • Even when you do sit in a class, you feel a bit lost because the teacher is catering to the advanced students and not providing a way for you to feel comfortable moving in your own body

Don't you wish there was some "Fundamentals" class you could take beforehand? Or in-between these "beginner-but-more-like-intermediate" studio sessions?

Or how about those once-in-awhile "Yoga 101" workshops? They're not frequent enough, and all those workshop fees are adding up, aren't they?

But, you don't have to be stressed out anymore! Get yourself the behind-the-scenes knowledge, accessible to you at anytime, forever-ever-ever!

You can learn each pose on your own time, learn the many different ways you can approach the pose (based on what YOU want and need that day), get to know your body (and yourself) as you begin practicing different forms of meditation, noticing your relationship to food and not giving your power away to any teacher who doesn't understand your body more than you do.

That is SELF-LOVE, TRUST and EMPOWERMENT! :)

Begin to trust yourself and understand how your body feels when you meditate, practice a physical pose a certain way or when you eat certain things (veggies or not). Become your best personal scientist.

Never feel lost again or worry about having to look up at what your teacher is demonstrating

Attempt poses with incorrect form over and over, and you'll be prone to injury (I can speak from experience).

It can also get really frustrating to have to look up every time to see what your teacher is demonstrating.

Learn from the mistakes I've made and take all these golden nuggets for your added benefit.

How great would it be to start learning how to trust the way your body feels?

Come out of this 60-day course with comfort and confidence.

"I've had Julie as a yoga instructor many times over the years!! I've taken several classes led by Julie that ranged from beach yoga classes to an out of town yoga retreat day. Which was a very zen and relaxing way to recharge from the busyness of life.

It didn't matter if it was candlelit yoga, a personal session or a Deep House experience - every single session left me happier, lighter and with a better sense of connection between me and my body. She has a specific calm energy about her that is magnetic.

She instructs and guides gently and without judgement; like a friend who's there to help you unwind a little. She also sneaks in humor which only makes the experience more enjoyable haha. I'm so grateful to know her and can't wait to follow her adventurous spirit and be instructed in various places around the world!"

- Carmen F, Motivational Speaker, Small Business Owner

" I found Julie (Rogue Yogi) via Instagram and felt an instant connection. Her gentle, practical tips improved my asanas in terms of form and comfort. I found her to be very interactive on-line with perceptive observations and a non-judgmental attitude. As a beginner, I was not intimidated by jargon or vague expressions and her knowledge of anatomy and body alignment seems solid. I also felt a connection based on her travels to countries I had recently visited. Thanks Julie!"

- Tony, Physician, Specialist in Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine

REMEMBER: Yoga can be a life-long practice. You might not start touching your toes, yet, nor practice a vinyasa without using your knees. But, it's not about achieving the posture. Really. It's the process of getting connected with your body, focusing the chatter in your mind, and becoming a better version of yourself. Touching your toes is more like the "icing on the cake"! So, be patient and refer back to this course as many times as you'd like. You have lifetime access to it, even with future content upgrades. The more you practice, the more you enrich your knowledge with basic exercise science, the more levels of understanding you can reach.

Hey, I'm Julie. I'm a digital nomad, a science geek and a rogue yogi. I'm going to help you practice yoga using layman's terms. I was practicing for over 12 years before I became hyperflexible, injured and "at-risk" for a hip replacement! Not cool! So, I've been dedicating my time to understanding sports and exercise science, attentive+accessible methods of practicing yoga asanas/postures, and how you can move effectively and powerfully in your life! If you're tired of feeling the need to conform to what a yogi "needs to be", this is the place to be. No granola, no loud top 40 music, no nonsense.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does the course start and finish?
The course starts now and never ends! It is a completely self-paced online course - you decide when you start and when you finish.
How long do I have access to the course?
How does lifetime access sound? After enrolling, you have unlimited access to this course for as long as you like - across any and all devices you own.
What if I am unhappy with the course?
We would never want you to be unhappy! If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, contact us in the first 30 days and we will give you a full refund.
What if I'm not flexible?
I promise you this isn't about being flexible. It definitely does feel good to become more flexible, but it's only a fraction of what your body needs to move efficiently and safely in life. This is just like saying "I can't go to the gym because I'm not ripped". What this whole thing is about is taking you where you're at right now (in life, in physical/mental/spiritual health, etc) and helping you begin to trust your sense. Your sense of where your right hand is in relation to your butt, your ability to respect your body when it tells you it needs more strength than flexibility today, your self-empowerment. Imagine what it would be like if you started today. You would progress so much more than someone who never started at all.
Do I have to be Vegetarian to take this course?
F*ck no! In this Rogue Yogi School, you have the choice to live your life as you see fit. This includes dietary preferences, religion, fashion and more. While some people experience their practice differently with eating just vegetables, and the yoga gurus in India say it is the path to yogic enlightenment, it just isn't a requirement. Should you choose to be vegetarian, it's all good. Should you choose not to be, it's still all good. This is your opportunity to decide how everything you put into your body makes you feel, and you get to own that :)
What if I'm too busy to practice for an hour?
Perfect! This course features lessons that would take around 10 minutes a day. Just 10 minutes! Fit it into your day the best that you can. Consistency is much more key than length of practice in a day. Even if you just meditate for 10 minutes everyday, it will provide you a sustainable benefit.
